Federal Government Scholarship Awards for 2025/2026: Apply Now!
The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, invites qualified Nigerians to apply for the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards under the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).

Available Programs
1. Undergraduate (UG) Scholarships:
- Countries: Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria
- Fields of Study: Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (limited), Pilot Engineering, and Neurology.
2. Postgraduate (PG) Scholarships:
- Countries: Russia (for graduates of Russian institutions), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania
- Fields: Master’s and PhD programs in all disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate Scholarships:
- Qualifications: Minimum of 7 distinctions (As & Bs) in WASSCE/WAEC (May/June), including English and Mathematics.
- Certificate Validity: For Non-African countries (2023 & 2024); for African countries, certificates from 2024 only.
- Age Limit: 17 – 20 years.
Postgraduate Scholarships:
- Qualifications: First Degree with First Class or at least Upper Division.
- Requirements: NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and employer release consent.
- Age Limit: 35 years (Master’s), 40 years (Ph.D.).
Application Process
- Visit the Ministry’s Website:
- Go to www.education.gov.ng.
- Click on the “Federal Scholarship Board” icon.
- Complete the Online Form:
- Read the guidelines carefully.
- Fill out and submit the form.
- Print a copy of the completed application.
Important Notes:
- Language Preparation: Since BEA countries are non-English speaking, selected applicants must complete a mandatory one-year foreign language course.
- Hungarian Scholarships: Apply via www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu before January 15, 2025.
- Russian Scholarships: Visit education-in-russia.com.
Required Documents:
- Undergraduate Applicants: WAEC/WASSCE and NIN slip.
- Postgraduate Applicants: First Degree Certificate, NIN slip, and NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
Candidates nominated by the Board must provide:
- Authenticated academic certificates.
- International passport data page.
- Government hospital medical report.
- Birth certificate and indigene letter.
- Police clearance certificate (if required).
