Breaking: Civil Defense begins screening of 1. 4m Applicants

About 1.4 million Nigerians have applied for vacancies in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), The Nation learnt on Sunday

NSCDC spokesman Emmanuel Okeh, who confirmed the high number of applications said that the screening of candidates has begun online as those whose ages had passed the requirement would be eliminated – See shortlisted candidates here!

About 1.4 million Nigerians have applied for vacancies in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), The Nation learnt on Sunday

But the authorities of the NSCDC confirmed that there were vacancies for only 5,000 personnel whose fate would be determined by the board of the Corps in the next few weeks.

The NSCDC, which opened its online portals for online filing of applications, posted the vacant positions on August 9, 2019.

But by the time the deadline elapsed on September 7, 2019, over 1.4 million Nigerians had applied for the various positions announced by the NSCDC, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Service Board.

NSCDC spokesman Emmanuel Okeh, who confirmed the high number of applications, told The Nation that the screening of candidates would begin online as those whose ages had passed the requirement would be eliminated.

He added that those who engaged in multiple registration as well as candidates with inconsistent academic qualifications would be deleted from prospective candidates for the recruitment.


On the upsurge in the number of applicants for the NSCDC, Okeh said the development was not unexpected, considering the large number of unemployed persons in the country.

The spokesman attributed the large turnout to the fact that many Nigerian youths were interested in joining the NSCDC, given its remarkable and excellent outings over the years.

When asked how the recruitment would be done, he said the ball was in the court of the board.

Okeh added that the Federal Character principle would be reflected on the exercise.

He said the management of the NSCDC would be glad if the number of intakes increased on the basis of budgetary allocations by the Federal Government and the board.

According to him, there is need for increased manpower in the organisation.

Sadiya, in a talk show, disclosed that she has signed off payment of both Batch B, and that payment is no longer in her jurisdiction but in the of Accountant General of the Federation (AGFs)

Nigerian Army Recruitment 80RRI 2020 Requirements

  • Applicants must be a Nigeria citizen by birth and must possess a National Identity Card, you how to get your national ID CARD
  • Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit to be eligible for the application
  • Also, You must be free from any criminal conviction by the court of law.
  • Similarly, you must possess a least a minimum of 4 passes in not more 2 sitting in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or O’Level including the English Language
  • Furthermore, those applying for tradesmen/tradeswomen must also possess the Trade Test Certificate.
  • You must be between the age of 18 and 22 for non-tradesmen and 28 to 35 for tradesmen.
  • Additionally, your height should not be less than 1.68m for men and 1.62 for women.
  • It will interest you to know that it will be an added advantages if you are familiar with the three major Nigerian Languages.

  • Go to https://recruitment.army.mil.ng/
  • Log on to the above website and create an account.
  • Log in with the email and password you created the account with.
  • Complete the application form, submit online and print a copy, Then print and complete the Guarantor Form.
  • Ensure you bring with you copies of the application and guarantor forms to the designated state recruitment.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING THAT WILL TAKE EFFECT ON THE NIGERIAN ARMY RECRUITMENT 80RRI 2020 APPLICATION PROCESSES:

  • There will be no Pre-selection Computer Based Test to be conducted on candidates.
  • No special centre for recruitment.
  • There will no Zonal Screening Exercise.
  • All screening of potential recruits will be done at the candidates’ respective state of origin.

Npower July Stipend: OAGF Delays Order, No Date for Payment Yet

Exited volunteers of the Npower Programme will not get their pay this week as the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is yet to approve payment.

Sadiya Umar, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has already forwarded Batch B’s July stipend to the Accountant-General’s Office for payment of July Stipends

The office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGFs) is conducting final checks and payments, this will take some time to pay all the 14,000 volunteers rejected by GIFMIS

Sadiya, in a talk show, disclosed that she has signed off payment of Batch B and that payment is no longer in her jurisdiction but at the office of the Accountant General.

Because of the change in payment Platform, it was discovered that some names also appear in other government payment vouchers

But the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is still working on payment protocols, to allow all owed and exited volunteers to be paid at once, and with ease

Volunteers are advised to exercise more patient, in no distant time, within the month of September, this issue would have been resolved


This is because of complains rising from GIFMIS rejection of over 14,000 genuine volunteers, who have suffered months without payment must be sorted out

Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the newly appointed Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Hon Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq made this known few days ago in Abuja.

“Until her appointment, Nneka Ikem was the Acting Director, Sports and Outside Broadcasts Directorate of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

She also served as SA Media and Publicity to the immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung.

The new SA to Sadiya Umar assured volunteers of speedy payment of backlogs to over 14,000 volunteers rejected by GIFMIS.

Immediately the payment protocols are solved and done, all exited volunteers would receive their earned stipends and backlogs, SA added
