The Abuja Electricity Distribution Commission has started a new intake of recruitment, interested persons who wish to work with the AEDC should carefully go through the instructions conveyed in this article.

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) is one of the 11 power distribution companies that was successfully privatized and handed over to new investors on 1 November 2013. KANN Utility Limited (KANN) is the 60% equity holder in AEDC. The Federal Government of Nigeria holds 40% equity in AEDC. AEDC has a franchise for the distribution and sale of electricity across an area of 133,000 km2 in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger State, Kogi State and Nassarawa State.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of all customers on assigned Distribution Transformers (DT)
  • Drive cash collection activities in respect of energy billed.
  • Engage in debt recovery activities in the Region.
  • Prepare schedules for meter reading, conduct accurate meter reading and submission of data to the Billing Unit for appropriate billing.  
  • Carry out accurate meter readings, proper inspection of meters and identify cases of Energy theft, bypasses, illegal connections
  • Prepare daily reports about all inspected customers and report findings to the Feeder Manager.
  • Preparation of disconnection reports

Qualification

  • Candidates should possess an OND / HND / B.Sc in any discipline
