We are hiring two PhD students; one in the field of “Civil Structural Engineering” and the other one in the area of “Sustainable Materials in Civil Engineering”.

Position: PhD Student Location: Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada Start Date: September 2024 Application Deadline: 29th March 2024

Dr. Das’ research group is widely recognized for its expertise in structural and materials testing as well as simulations, with a dedicated focus on advancing the field of structural engineering through pioneering research and academic excellence. We are actively looking for a motivated, energetic, and highly capable individual to join our team, adding value to our ongoing projects and helping us push the boundaries of knowledge in the field of structural engineering and sustainable construction materials in civil engineering.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s and a master’s degree in civil engineering from a reputable university
  • Exceptional academic record with high marks (Grade Point Average; GPA)
  • Strong motivation for research and a genuine interest in structural engineering/civil-sustainable materials engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise or a strong inclination towards experimental work
  • Profound professional and work ethics, including integrity, and honesty
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental research in the field of structural or materials engineering
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and faculty members
  • Analyze and interpret data and contribute to the publication of research findings in top peer-reviewed international journals
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay updated on the latest developments in the field
