The Minister for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu has stated that the Ministry will commence Recruitment Of Humanitarian Aid Workers On Monday 8 January 2024.

The Minister made this known on her Twitter page. According to her, The Ministry will be hiring temporal Humanitarian aid workers and deploying them to every location where there are humanitarian crises.

Application for the job is free. This will reduce unemployment and improve the ministry response time and the quality of response going forward. People with skills and experience working in humanitarian crises will have greater advantages.

Responsibilities:

As an aid worker, you will directly provide essential humanitarian assistance to those affected by the crisis.

This may include distributing food, water, and essential supplies, organizing and managing emergency shelters, conducting assessments, coordinating relief efforts, and offering emotional support to those impacted by the crisis.

Requirements:

  1. Experience:

Previous experience working in humanitarian emergencies or crisis-stricken areas is essential.


Candidates must have a proven track record in managing or participating in relief operations.

  1. Skills:

Proficiency in emergency response, coordination, teamwork, and decision-making is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.

  1. Qualifications:

A relevant degree or equivalent experience in humanitarian aid or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional certifications related to first aid, disaster management, or relevant fields will be an advantage.

  1. Languages:

Proficiency in Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo are an added advantage. Fluency in English is required.

  1. Commitment:

Candidates must be willing to work in a challenging and often unpredictable environment. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial qualities for success in this role.
