The question was “Who lied to King Herod about the Birth of Jesus Christ?”

Answer

Nobody ever told King Herod a lie, The three wise men couldn’t lie to Herod about Jesus’ whereabouts as they never returned to Herod.

“because they were given divine warning in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way” Matthew 2.12

So Herod wouldn’t catch the men, as they had gone home.

Herod was not able to find Jesus because–

“an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying: “Get up, take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I give you word, for Herod is about to search for the young child to kill him.” v.13

Have you ever wondered why Herod had all boys of 2 years of age & under killed?

Here’s why– “On seeing the star, they rejoiced with great joy. And when they went into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and falling on their knees, they did obeisance to him. They also opened their treasures ..” v.10,11

What happened?

Joseph and Mary had been visited by an angel and told that Herod would attempt to kill Jesus, their son. Doing as told, they took their infant son and fled by night into Egypt, where they stayed until Herod had died. The three Magi were separately warned in a dream of the threat that King Herod posed and went home by a different route than they came.

Herod had planned to make the Magi tell him of the whereabouts of the Christ child. When he heard of the Magi’s change in course, he grew angry and tried to kill the infant messiah by killing all the young children in the area, an event known as the Massacre of the Innocents.

If anybody wins, payment will be transferred to the person’s account, however, if nobody wins, we will try again another day.
