NCS Council Election 2019 and Nomination Form

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) General Election will hold on July 18th, 2019 during the Annual General Meeting.

A. Election Timetable:

B. Elective Positions:

  1. President
  2. Deputy President
  3. Chairman, Conferences Committee
  4. Chairman, Innovation, Research and Development Committee
  5. Chairman, Credentials Committee
  6. Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee
  7. Chairman, Education and Manpower Development Committee
  8. Chairman, Publicity, Events and Trades Services Committee
  9. Chairman Audit Committee
  10. Ex-Officio Members X 6 (One from each of the Six Geo-Political Zones)

C. General Requirements for All Elective Positions:

  1. Must be a Member of the Society and a fully registered by CPN for a minimum of 3 years
  2. Must have attended two NCS Conferences and one CPN IT Professionals’ Assembly within the last 3 years
  3. No interested candidate can hold a position for more than 2 terms consecutively
  4. Must be paying annual dues at both NCS and CPN yearly in the last 3 years. Hence, must be a paid up member at both NCS and CPN
  5. Must be an active member of his/her local Chapter and be recommended by the local Chapter

D. Specific Requirements for Various Elective Positions:

  1. President
  2. Must be a Fellow of the Society.
  3. Must have served in the NEC for at least a total number of 4 years.
  4. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline.

Deputy President

Must be a Fellow of the Society
Must have served in the NEC for at least a total number of 2 years.
Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline.

Chairman, Conferences Committee

  1. Must have served in the NEC or Conferences Committee for at least 2 years.
  2. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline

Chairman, Innovation, Research and Development Committee

  1. Must have served in the NEC or Publications Committee for at least 2 years.
  2. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline
  3. An academic/Chief Research Officer (Ph.D holder and not less than the rank of a Senior Lecturer at a University or a Research Institute).

Chairman, Credentials Committee

  1. Must be a Fellow of the Society.
  2. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline

Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee

  1. Must be a Fellow of the Society
  2. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline

Chairman, Education and Manpower Development Committee

  1. Must have served in the NEC for at least 2 years or any other Committee of NCS
  2. Must have a degree in Computing or Information Technology related discipline

Chairman, Publicity, Events and Trades Services Committee

  1. Must have served in the NEC or Publicity Committee for at least 2 years.
  2. Must have the ability to promote the image of the Society and interact corporately with the public.

Chairman Audit Committee

  1. Must have served as a national committee member for a minimum of 2 years
  2. Must have good knowledge of Accounting

Ex-Officio Members & Representatives to CPN Council X 6 Positions (One representing each of the Six Geo-Political Zones)

  1. Must have served in NEC or as a State Executive member for at least 2 years

Nomination form for Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Council Election 2019.

The Nomination Form consist of four (4) sections:


1. Records of Candidate (Nominee) in NCS Secretariat/Database
2. Records of Proposer (Sponsor) in NCS Secretariat/Database
3. Records of Candidate (Nominee) in CPN Secretariat/Database
4. Records of Proposer (Sponsor) in CPN Secretariat/Database

Please complete all sections.

You may wish to print the form and complete it offline first in order to avoid mistakes.
Please be guided by the Electoral Guidelines.

Closing Date: Sunday, March 31, 2019.
