Nigerian army shortlist 2024 DSSC

The Nigerian Army (NA) invites shortlisted candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission Course 28/2024 Selection Board to report to Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Oyo State on March 11, 2024, between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Reporting Requirements:

  • Arrival: Arrive at the Selection Board venue by 11:00 AM. Late arrivals will be disqualified.
  • Documents (Bring original & duplicate copies):
    • All academic/professional certificates (including testimonials, NYSC discharge or valid Exemption Certificate) in a file jacket.
    • Proof of ordination (Protestant/Roman Catholic chaplains).
    • Call-to-Bar certificate (Directorate of Legal Services candidates).
    • Valid birth certificate (endorsed by National Population Commission, hospital, and Local Government Council) or valid age declaration.
    • Valid certificate of state of origin.
    • Military Identity Card (military personnel only).
    • Recommendation letter from Commanding Officers/Commanders (military personnel only).
    • Sponsorship letter from sponsoring tertiary institution (military personnel only).
    • Printed Bank Verification Number (BVN) certificate (authenticated by a bank) and NIN enrolment slip.
    • Completed DSSC portal printouts, including referee forms.
  • Other:
    • Writing materials (ruler and eraser)
    • Clothing (3 pairs of plain white vests, 3 pairs of navy blue shorts, canvas shoes/trainers, white socks)
    • Toiletries
    • Cutlery (plates, drinking cups)
    • Bedding (blankets, bedspreads, pillowcases)
    • Four (4) full-size color photographs in a suit (standing position)

Selection Process:

The Selection Exercise will involve physical, medical, and academic tests, along with an oral interview.


Important Information:

  • Tampering with documents will render them invalid.
  • Food and accommodation will be provided during the Selection Board.
  • Candidates are responsible for their transportation to and from the Selection Board.
  • Personal vehicles are strictly prohibited.
  • Visitors are not allowed.
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline. Violations will lead to disqualification.
  • The Nigerian Army is not liable for any injuries/deaths during the Selection Board due to the exercise’s military nature.
