Ibrahim Umar, Emir of Patigi, Kwara State is dead

Late Umar allegedly died in Abuja on Tuesday night, March 19, following a brief illness as confirmed by Muritala Raheem, Emir of Ilorin’s Personal Assistant and the Chairman of the Emirs and Obas Council of the State.


Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, described the death of Patigi’s Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar as a huge shock and a monumental loss.

He described the late Emir, who was the Vice President of the Traditional Council of the State, as a man of peace, a great guardian of the culture of his people, and a father to all, saying that his wise counsel and leadership will be greatly missed, especially at this critical time in Kwara State history.
