So if you are an international student and you wish to study in the UK, you are in luck because I will provide you with a list of 10 UK free college scholarships for international students.

The British Government and UK Universities provide a large number of scholarships for international students who want to study in the United Kingdom. With a total number of scholarships to study overseas here over 3,000 opportunities are here all for grabs but I will list eight (8).

1.The Commonwealth Scholarships for International Students

Deadline: December 19th

The Commonwealth Scholarship are intended for students from developing Commonwealth countries who want to pursue Masters and Ph.D. studies in the UK. These Scholarship are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Each Scholarship provides airfare to and from the United Kingdom, tuition and examination fees, personal maintaining allowance, thesis grant (if applicable), an initial arrival allowance, among others.

2. Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Deadline: December 5th

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from any country outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. A Gates Cambridge Scholarships covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. It also provides additional, discretionary funding.

3. Chevening Scholarships

Deadline: November 6th

Chevening Scholarships, the UK government’s global scholarship program, are awarded to outstanding scholars from Chevening-eligible countries around the world. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree. Most Chevening Scholarship cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK, and additional grants to cover essential expenditure.

4. Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships

Deadline: Ongoing

The University of Edinburgh will offer 30 Scholarships to outstanding overseas students who intend to pursue a Ph.D. Research Programme in any field of study offered by the University. Each scholarship covers the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The awards do not cover maintenance expenses.

5. Denys Holland Scholarship at University College London

Deadline: May 1st

The Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at University College London (UCL), and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union. The Scholarship is worth £9,000 per annum and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees.

6. Bristol ThinkBig International Scholarship

Deadline: May 31st

The University of the West of England, Bristol offers more than £100,000 worth of scholarships for international students each year. This includes the Chancellor’s Scholarship wherein the recipient will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments. The Scholarship covers the full tuition fees for one academic year.

7. The International Ambassador Scholarship

Deadline: November 25th

The International Ambassador Scholarship recognizes and provides financial support for outstanding students who wish to pursue a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of West London. The scholars will act as international ambassadors for the University of West London. Up to 50 scholarships worth up to £5,000 are available.

8. Clarendon International Scholarships at Oxford University in the UK

The Clarendon International Scholarships Places many International Students in a Fully Funded Scholarship to study at Oxford University. The Scholarship in the UK for International Students offers over 100 full scholarships every year to academically excellent graduate students from all around the world.

Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at the graduate level at the University of Oxford. All Clarendon Scholarships cover tuition and college fees in full.
