UNISA Registration 2023 - Application to Open Soon

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is an open-distance e-learning university which allows students to pursue their studies by using online resources and study materials provided by Unisa themself.

Unisa offers a combination of career-orientated courses usually associated with a university of technology, combined with general formative academic programmes typically linked to a traditional university.

This university offers many certificates, degrees and diplomas at the bachelor’s, master and doctoral levels.

Applications to study at Unisa for the 2023 academic year will be opening on 1 September and closing on 14 October.

The university has stated that everyone who plans to start a new qualification must apply for admission, this includes:

  • first-time Unisa applicants
  • Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or specialisation
  • applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space or who were offered a space accepted the offer and did not register
  • students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies

Applicants may apply for admission to master’s and doctorate programmes from 11 September until 14 November 2022.

Students should be aware that applications will have to be done online and they are urged to apply as soon as applications open, as spaces fill fast.

Open Distance e-learning means that learning will take place where the student and the university are physically distanced and the student will connect with the university mostly via the internet from a laptop, tablet or other devices.

However, students are still provided with many support services even though they are distanced, through libraries, tutorial support, counselling and other online tools.

Students may study full-time or part-time which allows them to work while studying, they also get to structure their own schedule in order to complete each course they are registered for.
