The deadline for Union Plus College Scholarship Application Is Jan. 31! Apply Now

Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5 million to 3,400 college students from union families.  

The scholarships award outstanding academic achievement, personal character, financial need, and commitment to the values of organized labor.

At a time when many families have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Union Plus is especially glad to support hardworking students as they further their education and pave the path for future success.  

Who can apply?  

Current and retired participating union members, their spouses, and their dependent children.  

What schools are eligible?  

Awards are granted to students attending any U.S. accredited two-year college, four-year college, graduate school, or recognized technical or trade school.  

What school years are included?  


The 2022 application is open to students attending college during the 2022 – 2023 school year, for any year of college, from first-year undergraduates to the final year of graduate school.  

What are the award amounts?   

Awards are one-time grants of $500 to $4,000, but students may reapply each year. A total of over $150,000 in awards is distributed each year.
