There would Not be Fuel Scarcity – NNPC
Nigerians have started storing petroleum products in their vehicles and homes following rumors that fuel might soon be scarce have besieged fuel stations in many parts of the country.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has called on Nigerians to ignore the country’s rumors of impending petrol scarcity and stop panicking.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by its Group Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, NNPC stated that the report of an imminent fuel shortage due to the alleged refusal by some oil marketers to remove products from depots was “false news.”
Over one billion liters of petrol were in stock, the corporation said, while imports of 48 50 million liter vessels each were committed for the April month alone.
It also gave assurance that in anticipation of scarcity there was no need for panic buying or hoarding petroleum products.
The corporation also stated that N145 per litre remained the approved pump price of petrol.
